    Here Are The First 10 SPROCKIT Start-Ups

    The first 10 start-ups have been selected to participate in SPROCKIT’s 2017 program. Up to 30 emerging companies will be selected by industry leaders to participate based on their potential to offer what the NAB and SPROCKIT believe are “real solutions to challenges in today’s evolving market.” Now in its fifth year, SPROCKIT will showcase industry-vetted emerging companies at the 2017 NAB Show, set for April 22-27 in Las Vegas, and throughout the year at SPROCKIT Sync, a series of private forums where industry executives and entrepreneurs meet to collectively discuss new technologies that will advance the industry. Since its launch in 2013, nearly 100 emerging companies have participated in SPROCKIT, many of which have experienced successful funding rounds, partnerships and acquisitions. “SPROCKIT Hub at NAB Show brings together the right combination of established corporations and vetted start-ups to create partnerships that benefit both parties,” said SPROCKIT founder and CEO Harry Glazer .

    Instant Media Playout Solution Gets NAB Debut

    The stateside debut of an all-in-one appliance for playback applications in studio and mobile environments will take place at the 2017 NAB Show in Las Vegas in late April. Unveiled at IBC2016, the instant media playout solution — dubbed ClipFire — is the latest product offering from ENCO. ClipFire boasts a touch-screen operation, with an array of active buttons displaying a visual thumbnail with clip information, ready to provide playback of video, audio or graphics upon a single click or tap. ClipFire is designed for various television and live event production applications, including studio-based news broadcasts and “visual radio” to concerts and sports coverage. Buttons can be assigned to play individual clips, overlay graphics, send commands to external devices, or trigger multiple clips simultaneously

    A ‘Smart’ New Pro Communications Headset Comes

    Here’s another new product set for an introduction at the  2017 NAB Show  in Las Vegas at the end of April. The company best-knew for the Tempest system and the CrewCom professional wireless intercom system is displaying its SmartBoom LITE headset at the show.

    ATSC 3.0 Starter Kits On The Way

    A series of ATSC 3.0 “starter kits” designed to bring broadcasters up to speed with the new broadcast television standard in a real-world environment are set for introduction throughout 2017 — giving TV stations everything from file-based monitoring to live encoding and over-the-air transmission options. The kits are being released by Triveni Digital , and will get their first-ever demonstration at the 2017 NAB Show, set for April 24-27. Triveni Digital can be found at booth N2031. “The ATSC 3.0 standard is on the verge of completion, which will provide broadcasters with a wide range of benefits based on the ability to comprehensively distribute a hybrid mix of broadcast and broadband IP content to fixed and mobile receivers for the very first time,” said Ralph Bachofen, Triveni Digital’s VP/Sales & Marketing
