    A $900 Million Debt Swap And Payoff From CBS

    LOS ANGELES — After the Closing Bell on Wall Street, CBS went looking for some cash—in a nearly billion-dollar way—to engage in a debt swap that, when all the calculations are made, gives the company a more favorable consolidated rate of interest. In an announcement made late Monday afternoon, Pacific Time, CBS Corp. announced the pricing of a debt offering of $400 million of 2.5% senior notes due 2023, and $500 million of 3.375% senior notes due 2028. The sale of the senior notes is expected to close quickly—in one week, to be precise

    Did you miss ? It appears the professional audio processing company  Orban  did too, as it has just redesigned its website and relaunched the famed Orban brand with its original URL.     Cordillera Goes With GatesAir For Three Repack Shifts

    Twin Cities-based Cordillera Communications is putting the wheels in motion on the broadcast spectrum move of no less than three UHF stations—a move predicated by the completion of the FCC’s spectrum auction. Stations in Kentucky, Colorado and Montana are impacted, and brought in to assist with the channel shift for the trio of broadcast stations is GatesAir . That’s because Cordillera has selected GatesAir transmission equipment and services for its WLEX-DT , the NBC affiliate in Lexington, Ky.;  KOAA-DT , the NBC affiliate serving the Colorado Springs/Pueblo, Colo., DMA; and KAJJ-CD , a low-power TV station in Kalispell, Montana. Cordillera is in the process of submitting their applications for construction permits, budget statements, price quotes and other information required by the FCC for reimbursement. Once this paperwork has been completed, Cordillera will order transmitters for each site

That’s because he’s just been named COO at  Ooyala , the California-based provider to media companies of video software and services. Nikzad is responsible for leading daily operations of the business, with emphasis on Ooyala’s product life-cycle—including inception, development, delivery, support, and all customer deployments. Nikzad joins Ooyala after holding a similar role for software-as-a-service (SaaS) company Syncplicity. He also held COO positions with EMC’s Consumer and Small Business division, and with NewNet Communication Technologies
